Đorđe Vesnić
What Milun began in 1976 in a Zastava 101, and Milovan carried through twelve national and five Central European titles, now passes to Đorđe. Race number 56, a Renault Clio, and the same hills the European elite contests — with no electronic aids to hide a mistake. The name on the side window reaches a third generation.
Back to the hills, and victory at Limanowa
The team joins the FIA European Hill Climb Championship calendar with two cars and two generations at the wheel. At the 17th Hill Climb Limanowa in Poland, round seven of the championship, Milovan Vesnić takes first place in Group 3, while Đorđe Vesnić banks his first European experience in the Renault Clio.
Victory at Grobnik and a city's recognition
Mikica wins race one of TCR Eastern Europe at Grobnik. In the same year he receives the city of Užice's Athlete of the Year award for 2020.
TCR Eastern Europe champion
The title in the regional TCR championship — confirmation that the team can hold its own against professional outfits in one of the most widely adopted technical formulas in the world.
A fifth Central European title
The most successful circuit season in the club's history. In a Seat Cupra TCR in class D4-3500 cc, Mikica wins six of the ten races and seals the title at Brno with 216 points — ahead of Vaclav Nimec (176) and Jakub Wyszomirski (142.5). It was his fifth Central European championship.
The Audi RS3 LMS TCR arrives in Užice
In partnership with the ASK GM racing team an Audi RS3 LMS in TCR specification is acquired. In the same year the team also contests two World Championship races — the highest level it had reached to that point.
Imola and eight trophies
An FIA European Touring Car Cup entry at Imola — the biggest international stage to that point. In 2016 the club brings home eight trophies from international competition, along with another Central European Zone title and second place for Mladen Lalušić in endurance racing.
Central European champion
A first FIA Central European Zone title, in the class up to 2000 cc. A season run through Slovakiaring and the Pannonia Ring confirms that the team from Užice can win a regional championship.
FIA Road Safety Cup champion
Two consecutive titles in the regional FIA cup. The domestic programme runs alongside it, and a BMW 320si appears in the garage — the car that will take the team onto European circuits.
European Hill Climb Championship
Two seasons in the European hill climb championship behind the wheel of an Opel Vectra STW — a car built in just fifteen examples, with over 300 horsepower. The tally: two wins and two second places.
The European Renault cup
Four seasons in the prestigious Renault cup of Europe and Germany, including rounds of the BERU TOP 10 championship. Mikica records two victories — at Jarama in Spain and the Salzburgring in Austria — the first serious proof that he could match Western European opposition.
ASK Vesnić is founded
On 20 May 1997 Milun Vesnić formally founds the club in Užice. What had been a family passion gains a name, an address and a competition licence — and from then on father and son compete under the same badge.
A first title at nineteen
In only his second season Mikica takes his first championship. It is the start of a run that will grow to twelve national titles across circuits and hill climbs.
Mikica makes his debut
Milovan 'Mikica' Vesnić, born on 29 February 1976, lines up in a race car for the first time and takes the runner-up title straight away. The name on the side window gains a second generation.
Yugoslavia's most decorated driver
For two decades Milun Vesnić barely left the podium: eighteen Yugoslav championship titles across three different disciplines, two Balkan rally crowns, and 246 podium finishes in all — 144 of them victories, plus 72 seconds and 30 thirds. He was the first driver ever awarded the Diamond Helmet of the Auto-Moto Association, alongside four Golden Helmets.
Milun Vesnić takes the wheel
At twenty-five, Milun Vesnić enters his first race on Mount Tara in a Zastava 101 he shares with his father-in-law — and finishes second in a strong field. That single result begins a story that has now run for half a century.
