A race weekend does not begin on the start line. It begins by unloading the cars from the transporter, raising the awning and working through a list of checks that must be complete before anyone turns a wheel.
Scrutineering covers safety equipment, weighing the car, and checking documentation and licences. In parallel the team's mechanics work on the engine, final checks on torque settings, fluid levels and installations.
Race numbers and driver markings go on by hand, on site. It is the last step before a car becomes a competition entry.
